Sub-levels 1-3 on the Comp will provide de-fueling below stock. The de-fueling mode is entered only when rpm and boost are below a set value and stock fueling is being increased beyond a set rate. These conditions are different for each sub-level 1-3. During operation, when the de-fueling mode is entered, the rate of fueling increase is limited, which reduces smoke. De-fuel mode is exited once stock fueling equals the fueling controlled by the Comp. This way the transition is smooth and cannot be felt while driving. De-fuel mode is entered the easiest in sub-level 1 and has the smallest allowable fuel increase, while sub-level 3 de-fuel mode is not entered as easily and has a larger allowable fuel increase.

Sub-levels 4 and 5 allow adjustment of the additional fueling above stock based on boost level. Sub-level 5 adds the most fuel at low boost; Sub-level 4, which adds less fuel than Sub-level 5, corresponds to jumper setting 2 on the EZ.

The amount of additional fuel added is calculated, the amount actually added after being compared to boost from the total is as shown below:

Sub level 1: 33% is added at 0 psi boost
100% is added at 20 psi boost

Sub level 2: 50% is added at 0 psi boost
100% is added at 15 psi boost

Sub level 3: 67% is added at 0 psi boost
100% is added at 10 psi boost

Fuel may be added at 0 psi boost on all Sub Levels and EZ Jumper settings unless the de-fuel mode is entered as described above.

Power Level 1 on the Comp is the same as the EZ; on Power Levels 2-5 additional power is added via the wire tap onto the injection pump. If the pump wire is not attached with a Comp, Levels 2-5 are still operational, but the power gain is not any higher than Level 1. Under this scenario, however, power will come on much earlier in the throttle

Edge Juice

 
The Power Edge EZ is a plug-in module that maximizes engine efficiency by monitoring the RPM, timing, turbo boost pressure and fueling parameters. The module uses this information to determine and control both fueling and timing enhancements for the Bosch fuel injection pump. The re-mapping of the fueling and timing parameters is done via the CAN-BUS communication system. The CAN-BUS protocol is used to communicate between the Cummins Engine Control Module (ECM) and the Bosch fuel injection pump. All data sent from the EZ is within the limits of the Bosch fuel injection pump. This enables smooth and predictable power delivery without compromising integrity. This increase in power does not increase the exhaust smoke from a stock engine.

The Edge EZ allows maximum fueling at full turbo boost and provides an additional 65-rear wheel horsepower, an additional 185 foot pounds of torque and installs in minutes. Simply plug the EZ connectors into the ECM Data Link connection and MAP sensor. There’s no need to unplug the Bosch fuel injection pump connector, it is completely weatherproof and mounts easily under the hood.
 

The Power Edge Juice is a completely weatherproof module that easily installs underneath the hood using factory-style connections and in just five minutes. The sophisticated tuning adjustments made by the Juice also results in fuel mileage gains of up to 10% over stock.

The Juice communicates directly with the engine’s ECM, from which it receives vital engine, transmission, and fuel system information. This enables the Juice to provide smooth and precise power curves that are truly custom, rather than just an offset from stock.


The Juice has four power levels to choose from. The power levels produce the following rear wheel power gains:

Simply plug the Power Edge EZ connectors into the ECM Data Link connection and MAP sensor. The Edge EZ is completely weatherproof and mounts under the hood. For 2003 and later trucks, the EZ has four levels of adjustability ranging from 40 to 70 additional horsepower and can also be set to zero for heavy towing without having to unplug the module.

The EZ can also be stacked with other upgrades to deliver even more power. There is not an upgrade on the market today that can deliver as much power and install so simply.

Dodge Gauges

We recommend an Exhaust Temperature Gauge for every Diesel, especially if towing heavy loads or if it has been modified. A Transmission temperature Gauge for every Automatic Trans equipped truck. Adding a Boost Gauge can be informative as well.
 
All AutoMeter Boost Gauges come with tubing and fittings for a "Drill and Tap" installation into the intake manifold. This requires removal of this part of the manifold to make sure that no shavings from the drilling and tapping operations get into the engine.
